After Promenade Station, TECO has successfully completed another Singapore Metro Downtown Line project, Newton station, which was opened for operation on 27 December 2015.
TECO supplied not only the Vitreous Enamel Panels but also the Enamel Artwork Panels in this project. The artwork draws inspiration from Singapore and Newton heritage, featuring the imagined landscape of Singapore in 2200. It envisions an alternative reality of how it may look as the country progresses, and to evolve and develop to newer heights.
With TECO silkscreen printing technique, the artwork is presented in a very high quality and durability. These artwork panels are extremely hard-wearing, withstanding many abrasive materials, and will meet scratch resistance to Mohs hardness scale 6. They are also ideal for use in public areas where unwanted graffiti and spray paints can be readily removed.
