Dongmen Station, Taiwan

Dongmen station is a metro station served by Taipei Metro. It is an interchange station on the Red Line and the Orange Line, This station was opened on 24 November 2013.

Tracing back to the Japanese occupation period, Dongmen district was an administrative district when Taiwan was under Japanese rule. Hence, it is a historically significant area in Taiwan history. In addition, the famous Yongkang market also locates at this district. Every year, hundreds of thousands overseas visitors come here for the Taiwan’s signature foods, such as snow ice, xiaolongbao, and beef noodle. You can take Exit 5 of Dongmen station for the shortest distance to reach Yongkang market.

The design of Dongmen station is based on traditional elements with high-light ceilings, supplemented by warm lighting. With the glossy surface of the VE panels under the warm lighting, VE panels indirectly enhance the cozy atmosphere of the entire MRT station. In this project, TECO fabricated and supplied 5,200m² of vitreous enamel panels to this station. The VE panels were installed as the wall cladding and column cladding at the platform levels as well as the wall panels adjacent to the escalators and stairways.

Vitreous enamel panel is one of the most reliable and hard-wearing materials used in construction today. VE cladding is dirt-repellent, graffiti-proof, and incredibly durable. It combines aesthetically colors and glossy finishing with excellent properties, such as corrosion and scratch protection.
