Vitreous Enamel Artwork Panel and Feature Wall VE Panels in Woodland South MRT Station
Hi there! We are glad to share a newly completed Vitreous Enamel artwork panel project in Woodlands South MRT station in Singapore. It opened for passenger service on 31 January 2020. TECO, as a global specialized Vitreous Enamel Wall Cladding manufacturer, supplied the VE panels and VE artwork panels to this station. The total quantity is up to 6,900m². TECO fabricated 28 different colors of VE panels as the feature walls in this station. With the virtually unlimited color range, stable color consistency, and colorfast performance, TECO VE panels are the best choice to present solid color patterns of the feature walls and artworks in the Woodlands South MRT station.
Woodlands South MRT station is an underground Mass Rapid Transit station on the Thomson–East Coast Line in Woodlands, Singapore, located underneath Woodlands Avenue 1, at the junction with Woodlands Drive 16 and Drive 17, bringing rail connectivity to schools, residential developments, and community amenities in the area.
The station architect proposed a distinctive visual language. The concept of the station artwork design, A Promise to Myself, was about getting the 50 participants who either live, work or study around the Woodlands South station. They were guided to make a promise publicly to themselves to be fulfilled in 10 years. The promises were written and drawn as a symbol to present their promises by the participants before translating into the needed format and form the discs of the flowers/stars. After translating to the pentagon, they filled in the color digitally. The pentagon was then sat in the center of the flower/star.
