Mountbatten MRT station is located on the boundary of Kallang and Geylang, Singapore. It is an underground Mass Rapid Transit (MRT) station on the Circle line.
In this project, TECO fabricated and supplied 300m² of vitreous enamel panels to this station. The VE panels were installed as the wall cladding and column cladding at the platform levels and the stairways.
VE Panels can be precisely designed and accurately produced for many types of structures and shapes, ensuring a reliable installation without the need for in-place bending or forced fit. The array of installation for VE panels presents a lattice configuration. It contributes to the station an aesthetic but not monotonous space. Compared to other wall materials, the vitreous enamel coating is completely impervious to contaminants, smooth, and low static, preventing dust adhesion and resulting in only minimal cleaning required. Owing to its unique properties, it is suitable to withstand natural consumption in high-traffic areas.
