National Museum of Marine Biology Aquarium, Taiwan

Area: 1,200m² | Year of Completion: 2011

National Museum of Marine Biology and Aquarium is an aquarium located in Checheng Township, Pingtung County, Taiwan. It opened on 25 February 2000. The museum has an 81-meter underwater moving track, which was once the biggest underwater tunnel in Asia before the Shanghai Ocean Aquarium was built. Also, this project has won the first prize in the American 2001 Outstanding Engineering Award by the American Engineering Counseling Association.

In this project, TECO fabricated 1,200m2 of red and black vitreous enamel panels and they were installed at the top of aquarium entrances. They were designed as Chinese style roofs, curved upward, which is a very traditional Chinese architecture. TECO vitreous enamel panels have a fabulous resistance to sunlight advantage that can keep the color of the red vitreous enamel panels vivid for decades. Furthermore, the museum is located nearby the coast and TECO vitreous enamel panels bring an outstanding resistance to saltwater performance that prevents panels from fading and rusting during building lifespan. This is the reason that TECO VE panels are the best material choice for your exterior wall cladding project.
