Outram Park MRT Art in Transit | TECO Vitreous Enamel Artwork Panels

Outram Park MRT Artwork Panels – “Mata-mata” by Hafiz Osman | Supplied by TECO

Area: 160 m² | Year of Completion: 2020

Project Overview

Artwork Introduction

Taiwan Enamelware Co., Ltd. is proud to have manufactured and supplied the artistic vitreous enamel panels for the “Mata-mata” public art installation at Outram Park MRT Station (TE17) on Singapore’s Thomson-East Coast Line.

Created by Singaporean artist Hafiz Osman, this artwork presents a community-generated map of Outram Park, composed of traced drawings based on photos submitted by residents. The final composition reflects the area’s architectural heritage and cultural memory, including landmarks like the Singapore General Hospital, Cantonment Complex, and the former Outram Prison.

About the Artist & Concept

The artist invited local community members to participate by contributing meaningful photographs of the neighbourhood. These photos were transformed into traced drawings and composed into a large-format map-like artwork. The piece represents diverse perspectives and the evolving identity of Outram Park.
